The Channel Islands Military Museum
ST OUEN, JERSEYThe Channel Islands Military Museum is located in St Ouen, Jersey. It is dedicated to the history of the German occupation of the Channel Islands during World War II. The museum features a collection of artifacts, photographs, and exhibits that tell the story of life on the islands during this period.
The museum is housed in a former German barracks and features a range of exhibits including uniforms, weapons, and personal items from the occupation. Visitors can also see a restored German bunker and learn about the impact of the war on the local population.
The Museum is based around the 5 years of German Occupation of the Island.
The Museum is housed in a former 10.5cm Jager casemate which sits right on top of the seawall in St.Ouens Bay and formed
part of Hitlers Atlantic Wall Defences. There are 7 rooms and 2 corridors to the bunker. Every room is full of artefacts from the Occupation time. Both German
military and civilian items. These were collected over the last 54 years by the Museums owner who started collecting at the age of 7. There are many rare items on
display, such as a 3 rotor Enigma machine.
This is a must visit Museum for those who like to see lots of original material. There is more on display in this bunker than anywhere else in the Island and it really does appeal to
collectors and historians.
The Museum always opens on the Monday before Good Friday, in time for Easter and stays open 7 days a week (10.00 till
